I'm seeing some major blurring of the image in a few places in ep 17. The first time is during the OP, right when the title appears. Is it just me? If yes, what codec should I be using to view this correctly? If no, when's the v2 coming out? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

"major blurring of the image"? elaborate more. this episode is full of soft images however all the lines that are suposed to be sharp look sharp to me. i cant imagin this is a codec issue but you can try downloadin the latest xvid binary and see if that helps.

Maybe, your download didn't finish downloading completely?

I have the same problem, every player crashes after a period of time.
I downloaded it via bittorrent.

Even with the new binaries it crashes. I'll try downloading it from mIRC.

All right, here's a screenshot. This is what I mean by "blurring of the image". (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
Btw, I'm using XviD-1.0 RC3 (clean install), and BitTorrent says the file is 100% complete. This happens both in Winamp and in Windows Media Player. Previous PMK eps have had no issues, nor anything else I've tried watching. So I'm strongly suspecting an issue with the ep itself...

OH! That's what happens when a download stopped at 97-99%

It doesn't have anything to do with codec. :x

Just try continuing the download (By downloading the bittorent file to the same folder as the old)

That's what I thought too, but BitTorrent says the file completed 100%.
I'm going to try re-downloading to a different file, see what happens.

try vlc player if that playes it without trouble than it is a codec conflict and not a corrupt file. you may need to uninstall some codec packs and reinstall just DIVX and XVID

VLC player plays the file flawlessly. So I guess it's something with the codecs. However, I don't have any codec packs installed whatsoever. Going to try reinstalling XviD and DivX altogether (those are the only two I use).

That looks like you need to completly update your xvid codec..

I got that when I tried to view my stuff, after reinstalling wondows, just becasuse I didn't reinstall all my codecs.

You may even, like CMOS said, try a different player.. Like the one he listed, or BSplayer. And no, I dont't have the download link for BSplayer. Try looking for it on google.

Complete reinstalls of XviD and DivX didn't help, still the same things happening. VLC player works but it way too bloated for my tastes and a pain in the ass to use, so I've uninstalled it again. I still find it strange that the problem is supposedly on my side when every other episode I have tried (from a selection of several hundred GB:s) works fine.

I had the green blurps on the edges, but then I installed the newest k-lite codec pack and now I can play the file without problem.

make sure you don't have divx trying to decode xvid content, that is if you're using divx5.1.1

go to divx in the start menu program list and divx and decoder properties, should be a box for "support generic mpeg-4" try unchecking that

the new xvid also has an option to decode all content, i'd turn that off too, and just let them decode according to the files fourcc

That solved my problem completely, thank you very much! Though I can't tell whether it was DivX causing the problem or XviD, I strongly suspect it was the former (damn proprietary codecs...). Again, thanks a lot.
