Kinda like the unofficial rules. Basically follow these simple things as they are basics that are left open to individual interpretation of the forum moderators.
1) Things not to ask: a. When the next release is. b. What the status of a series/episode is. c. Any common question that's previously been answered here. 2) Starting 2005 we instantiated a new policy in which we will not distribute episodes of series that are out on DVD in the US. Please don't ask where these episodes can be obtained or if we can put them up on bit torrent. A continually updated list can be found at http://forums.animeforever.org/index.php?showtopic=4091 3) No vulgar language or content. 4) Don't be rude/insulting/mean to other members. 5) Don't spam other group releases of projects we're working on. 6) Keep forum topics on topic. a) Don't try to carry on an intelligent conversation about something unrelated to the original topic. Post a new topic. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) Keep topics in the proper forum sections. 7) Hide your spoilers. Spoilers can be defined as most plot events in an episode or general series. Talking about the end of a series or mentioning about a characters death that happens in the last half of a series (including ones we've worked on) can count. 8) If you have a problem with something AF-F related be it torrent/website/irc/file playback etc search for it. With that here's some helpful information. -- Our IRC room is +R meaning only registered nicknames can get in. You must register your nick by doing a '/msg nickserv register password email' in irc and fill in a valid email address. You'll get a confirmation code and after you put that in you can identify your nick to register it each time you log onto a rizon server. /msg nickserv identify password -- We use koepi's xvid for encoding. Video playback is the most common problem people have and ask about. www.koepi.org is what we use. If something is still wrong after installing that it is either your player or other codecs installed on your system. Check the forums for other posts that've handled this. -- Random useful sites www.downloadanime.org / www.mirkx.com / www.baka-updates.com / www.animesuki.om / http://www.animeforever.org/index.php?goto=faq / http://www.newircusers.com / www.animeondvd.com / www.animenewsnetwork.com -- We try to keep our torrents well seeded but there's a lot to work on. Two recommended clients are www.bitttornado.com and http://azureus.sourceforge.net Please note if you are behind a router (like linksys, d-llink, netgear, netopia, cisco) you're probably firewalled. BT will suck for you unless you forward the proper ports that BT uses. http://www.newircusers.com/router.html is a good base guide to figure that out. Check your router or firewall manufacturers site for help. This is meant to be more of a guideline. It should be pretty easy to not be rude or upset anyone. But things will happen... |
