I was watching the intro to LE again, and I found hope! Check out the figure in the lower right hand corner.



This is proof that Alex HAS to survive to the end, somehow! I'd like to think that he becomes Sophia's Royal consort, but he gets to keep Sylvana and wander to his heart's content - just so long as he comes home to her. ^.^

hey if you're going with that little intro scene then wouldnt that mean Lavi would die? cuz she's not there...
Also that would also imply that Tatiana would hook up with Claus in the end

"in the ending of the series , Alex must die in pro of the dramatic emphasis of the climax... " (add crepy laugh here)

Well with all of this poison inside him... my observation of his actual phisical status is: he's really Fu*** off and unable to move nothing bigger than a finger... this mean big problems... but he's still alive,those who want to see him alive dont loose hope.

My speculations are...

A.) Syverna crewmen did an accelerate close quartes battle training course (showing incredible skills, in weapon manipulation, dynamic entries etc etc), they board exile, face interior resistance and blockades... find alex, carry him away back to sylverna and escape...

(man I really want to see this, it would be espectacular¡¡¡)

B.) Exile explodes/falls and Alex falls whith him while whispering "last of the mohicans" theme... and saying to maestro Delphine (who is in front of him) "if only I had one arm free..."

C.) Using a sharpened nail of the foot (or anything else... but I don't think he has any cutting tools at hand) , Alex manages to cut off the roses and escape himself, while Exhile is hevy bombarded.

D.) Exile receives heavy fire, from vansip bombs, large caliber guns, torpedoes , SMR-2 missiles, 3 tomahawks, and one SCUD-III found intact in irak after the war, exile collapses and sinks... later examining the wreckage they find Alex still tied with roses saying whith his calm voice: "you are late"....

well maybe on the last episode, they change the opening to everyone dying...

Ok, First of all, guild doesn't have contol of Exile as of now. so they would be storming guild ships.

I say they inject dio with some crack or speed and let him loose on the guild ship kiling everything in his path....

That would be an awesome opening sequence, just show everybody laying dead on the ground or dissolving into dramatic showers of sparkly lights.

Nothing like some good foreshadowing.

I didn't mean to imply that JUST because Alex is in the intro that he's not gonna die. I meant to clarify the following:

Note the sky. WHEN has it been that blue since Claus and Lavi first landed on the Sylvana? My guess is that it is Claus and Lavie in the vanship (Lavie hasn't gotten out of the vanship yet) and they are just returning from their promised ride in the Grand Stream. Alex is watching, all father-like, and Tatiana and Al are racing to the ship because the former thinks she might still be a girlfriend, and the later because Claus is her aniki now.

P.S. You guys are meeeeeean!

you notice that the classic japanese anime always has a bitter-sweet ending, so the logical ending would be Alex vs. Queen and both die together like the king and the prime minister. They are all sad and they cry and the empress becomes the captain of silvana, claus starts dating tatiana, and ravey goes become the second in command so she can curse claus and he can't curse back

Awww, I was just kidding around about the OP. Hehe. But yeah, that's definitely a good eye there, there isn't a nice sky in sight for a good part of the series after Alystia notices that the weather is going all wonky, though I don't know how much money I'd bet on

Personally I think Alex is gonna pite the big one and many others are really feeling that as well, so I guess it would actually be a suprise to see him survive the series, which is ultimately what Gonzo is going for.

I guess ultimately at this point we can't be certain what is going to happen with LE. Kind of nice in a way, since we've had to major character deaths you can't rule out more, but at the same time, two major deaths is a lot for an anime. Who knows, part of the fun isn't it?

Well... frankly I get the impression Alex has been dead for a long time--maybe Sophia would wake up and hook up with Vincent

At Least Alex is still alive... but I see him too poisoned do fight against delphine, but... never underestimate the power of hate, hate gives power muhahahah.

and the hero-survival-capabilities law is working for Alex too...







One thing annoys me... Delphine can do everything she wans, she don't need Luciora... so she killed him... she don't need Claus so she let him fly away... she don't need Dio so also let him go...

Alvis??? SHE NEED THAT KID... I wonder what happnes when she realizes that the little kiddie is flying away too...

well....alex may survive although my impression of him after this escapade is him being a permanently damaged good....like dio now.

Last Exile has made me paranoid of roses now.. I freaked out at my friends house since they have over 50 rose bushes...

I think Alex will at live at least long enough to fight Delphine - maybe not kill her, but at least confront her. As for living until the end? Eh, I'm 50-50...we'll see in a few weeks anyway.

or....he will go out kamikaze way injuring delphine greatly and the empress gives the finishing blow with that new cannon on the silvana

Alex will risk his life to get a taste of Delphine's sweet scent body.

My bet is he will die, he has already put all his life in going after Delpine. Of coz, I dont like to see him been a martyar, but as someone mentioned before, Gonzo has a habbit to kill off important characters.
