Live action transformers. I don't know wheter to gag at the thought or to cheer it on. You can check this out at www.transformers.com on the what's new section.

Suposedly this new movie is being based on the old generation 1 series from the 80's. And is being made by the same people who did the Xmen movies.

I don't know about the rest of you, but the idea of some guy running around in a big blocky costume saying that he's Optimus Prime could very easilly be very stupid. I'm wondering how they are going to make this look good.

well i figure, and hope, that for all the transformers themselves they use computers...
but then that dosnt leave much room for human actors as the only really reoccouring humans were Spike and Danial. but i suppose only time will tell.

ROFLMAO! I find the concept of live action transformers very very amusing. Hahaha, for some reason it makes me think of the people at cons who wear a box and walk around saying, "I'm a gundam!" Rooooooooofl

*ina very screwed up voice* Unicron OWNZ J00.

anyways, they could easily do some amazing CG for the transformers... though i heard rumors that on CG was being used to create the characters... that'd be scary.

It's nice to see that I'm not the only one who's concerned about the idea of live action transformers. I'll guess we'll just see in a year or two where this goes.
jonkoman
I think it is going to look like power rangers or something like that.
But still looking forward for the first episode.
Maybe it will be good for my stomachtraining laugh.gif just by laughing.
Or perhaps it will just be a great series.....who knows!!!
Jadzia Dax
Good Lord.

I'm sure my 5 year old will enjoy it very much... tongue.gif

Oh dear....
Add me to the list of people gagging

::gagagagag::

Even CG wouldn't make it work. It was great the in the 80s, but it'll just come across too campy now.

The new cartoon series Transformers Armada was a pretty cool series, though kind of childish at times, it was a far cry better than beast wars.

But still a full length feature movie of live action transformers. Maybe there is some hope since it is being done by the same ones who did the xmen movies, and I had my reservations when they did those movies, and they turned out to be pretty good. I'm hoping for a third xmen movie.
Drago
I like transformers.
Add me to the ::gag:: list despite that though.

To make it look good they will have to be all CG.
Otherwise it will look like Power Rangers probably.
Even if its done by the people who did Xmen.
Dont think it will satisfy anyone older then 5-6 years old.

Well, maybe my friend who has a collection of over 600 transformers will like it. laugh.gif
Not sure about anyone less dedicated though.
Vision
Well thats it the world is coming to an end
Ziroz
Heh, I don't think they can pull this off, I hope that they will. But I doubt it.
JazzeroKi
It is possible, I think either way I will see the movie when it's released, either for a laugh, or to enjoy a good movie. I'm too much of a trans addict to miss this.
Drago
I am not going to go on the opening night.
If I hear good things about it from friends,
I will consider seeing it. dry.gif

I love transformers...probably my #1 cartoon of all-time. I think a live action movie coudl be ok if they do a really good job with CG. They work the plot enough to get older nastalgic fans to watch...If they do a poor job or have people in suits though, it will be a terrible, terrible thing.... sad.gif
Nightfall
Sorry but live action Transformers...doesn't appeal to me. I will say I'm willing to be proved wrong. But I don't see anyone able to do it well. Except maybe Peter Jackson. But I could be wrong as I said.
JazzeroKi
I don't think we are going to see much about this movie for a while.

I had heard rumors that it was canceled, but then a few months later it turned up on transformers.com.

dude, you must have wrote that backwards. Beast wars OWNED. It had great writing, awesome animation, great plot development, dialouge, running gags, splendid characterization, and was 100% respectful of the TF liscense

Armada was just a cash cow, filled with horrible dialouge, oft sub-par animation, rediculous plots, Five annoying as hell kids that just woundnt die, awful episode after awful episode, and was 100% disrespectful of TF's. Worst then that, But the dark god, the chaos bringer, the sworn enemy of all TF's, the fallen god from a forgotten age, UNICRON, was wussified beyond redemption. He was beaten by five, junior high school kids. One of them a kid with a tan and a awful impersonation of a hispanic accent, the other a fat bully with an eating disorder who has alot to drop on his therapist when he gets home. Man im glad it's over.

Maybe someday, if we're lucky, well get a series as cool as BW again. Maybe if we are really lucky, furman will be a writer, instead of a consultant like he was in BW

I'd love to look forward to a live action Transformers movie, but in my humble opinion nothing after the movie in 1987 is worth watching. The Transformers is dead. Long live The Transformers.

Would you mean let transformers RIP, or rest in their fomer glory. One thing that I think is really cool right now is they have been reissuing a lot of the old original toys in japan and in toysrus.
