Really, you should download and watch it ... too much going on there to simple spoil it here, I for one think it deserved the time and space of download wink.gif

Most people who DID watch it will have to stop and think to undestand what is going on, so I strongly advise you to watch that tongue.gif

As a hint, skip episode 1 and only watch it after episode 12 (i.e. episode 1 is actually episode 12.5 ... I hate when they do that to make some sort of false cliffhanger)

If you REALLY want to know how it goes and spoil all that ... maybe I'll drop some time latter tongue.gif
RetroSamurai
Really? That's weird. So would that mean in reality that Episode 02 is really supposed to be 01, and naturally Episode 01 is 12.5 like you say? I probably won't get to watch the first series until I upgrade my old relic of a computer (My computer holds a maximum of 6 gigabytes, and of the amount of space I have, I only have about 1 gigabyte left, so that is not saying much at all.).
Caiobrz
lol yeah that's right.

Happened a similar thing with Gungrave, looks like episode fits at 18.5 or something (only heard off, didn't watch it though)

i love big boobies and i cannot not lie
irockash
wow... lost

wait... boobies! im in
Seven Eleven
wow...
the first series must be good in order to have the second series

so is it important to know what happens in the first series before watching this new one?
because it would really suck if the story starts from somewhere in the middle and i have no idea what is going on.

and can anyone give me some hint where i can get the first series? smile.gif
Caiobrz
lol let me tell you this, most people who watched the first series IS lost (kind purposelly on the plot I guess), if you didn't you will be lost squared.

I REALLY would watch, ratter then ask for what happened, the first season. You see, it's one of those "complete chaotic complex cliffhanger" the first season's ending (so much one would say it ended w/o a cliffhanger and others say the second season is a prequel), I have more questions about what happened then answers to give you about it ohmy.gif

so i should get the first series too...

do you have any idea where i can get the first series?

DE was OK. It had a HORRIBLE start though. Why they thought playing an episode near the end of the series first was a good idea is beyond me. After the first episode, I'm thinking that someone was smoking crack when they made this series. By the time I saw the first episode, AF was up to episode 4 and said that it was getting better. So I hung on.

I didn't like the character design. The 50-pound breasts hurt my back! laugh.gif

Storywise, it was somewhat interesting, at least enough to keep me coming back. But I was frustrated at the many questions I had when the series was over.

But you won't really understand what is going on in DE2 unless you've seen the first. I'm hopeful we will actually get to learn a few things in this sequel.

Hmm yes.. skip first 12 episodes.. just a lot of stupid flaunting of giganticly enormous monster-boobs. Or so I've heard. Some of these artists need to get out more.
Mr.Monkey
biggrin.gif big boobs are always a plus for me >:D

So how many eps is this show and does it have swords?
Kieru
Swords? Well... the series IS set in the future, but due to the plot yes, there are swords in at least one episode (of the second season). As for the first season... I don't recall seeing any swords. Of course, they had big guns (and breasts).

I'd suggest watching the first series too, primarily because in the second series, the characters aren't 100% sure what effect the 'end results' of the first season had on them... so it's important to know what was going on in the first season.

Or the character designer needs to get out more. tongue.gif He's done this football-sized breasted women before ("Amazing Nurse Nanako").

But as for skipping the first series, you won't understand many things that happen in DE 2 if you do that.

This poor series is overshadowed by the huge boobs. Its actually quite good. Though I'm not very harsh with things. Better than I could do. I might be able to make a good plot but animation not a chance. Though watching this series brings back memories of certain deaths like
'Luxandria such a nasty and sad way to go'

If you're a person who gets stuck on aesthetics, you're going to die here. Just about every anime series has fanservice; this was the Divergence Eve way of doing it (large breasts, that is). But, as with a bunch of other series, including Gilgamesh, once you get used to the character designs, you can focus on the story.

Divergence Eve season 1 was really... it had a bad start. Episode 1 is actually episode 12 (I recommend watching it as episode 1 regardless and not as episode 12), the CG looked like crap, and then there was the breast factor. For the first three or so episodes, it seemed like pure fanservice. I'd say that if by episode six or seven you're not clawing for the next episode, then watch up to episode eight and then decide not to watch it. The storyline is extremely dark, and it's quite an interesting contrast they build here by having characters fit for a sex comedy harem series inserted into one of the darker, twisted series you can find.

As for whether you should watch Season 1 before Season 2, that's a yes. You'll be lost in Misaki Chronicles for a bit, and while you may be able to catch on, a lot of the effect will be lost on you. That aside, it'll make viewing season 1 more painful, unless you buy the DVDs and watch those, simply because technology has progressed between the time both series were made, and not only do our fansubs look better, but the work on season 2 looks better as well (huge improvement to the CG and animation).

Divergence Eve was the series that drew me to AnimeForever happy.gif

There was no excuse for the bad CG in "Divergence Eve." I cite "Full Metal Panic" as an earlier title with EXCELLENT CG usage. It is nice to see that DE2 is better in this department. *nods*
