GREAT ANIME SERIES!!! weeeee i love it biggrin.gif one great thing about anime is how they show their expression and so much hitting! biggrin.gif
Gomu
too bad i find it repeatitive. but if you like those types of anime and dont mind *cough*inuyasha*cough* then love hina is a great anime biggrin.gif
zer0degrees
It was fun for a while, then i got entirely too irritated with the Keitaro + Smack himself up theme
JoOjOoBeAnS
hey guys do u know anymore anime of that kinda of type i dont think my head is wokring today sleep.gif
Sir Lucius
I really liked this series due to the exaggerated situations they're always in. Episode 16 (where they do the monkey magic play) is by far my favorite tho.
Xepheus
my favorite part of LH... (well besides well ALL of it)
would probably be the chirstmas special... i thought that part was the best ever it made me sad, happy and believe in miracles all at the same time biggrin.gif

Also for those who havent read the manga... the christmas part for the manga was amazing tooooooooo (IMO very touching stuff) and no its completely different than its anime counterpart... I'll tell you all if u havent read it (but i dont wanna spoil) happy.gif

-Xepheus
xephy fact #1: love hina is my favorite anime of all time with nothing that comes close biggrin.gif
xephy fact #2: naru is still my dream girl with older shinobu coming in second wink.gif

( oh and yes in the manga, last part, there was a picture of older shinobu... also naru in a wedding dress... but we wont get into that biggrin.gif )

I liked Love Hina (well, except for Love Hina Again, so much fanservice, I might as well watch hentai), but I enjoyed the manga more. The storyline in the manga turns out way different (and IMHO better), plus comedy is almost always funnier in the manga. The only thing an anime can beat a comedy manga on is atmosphere, and fortunatly, LH does, especially in the beginning. I love the Fantasy World part one Music, it really sets a mysterious, somewhat sad mood.

Jojo, ur best bet is Air master, lol u need .1 braincells to watch that anime, and if u r truly open-minded in general this anime will just be, i don't want to say fun, but like i pointed out above it is easy on the head smile.gif :x tongue.gif  laugh.gif 8) :? :? smile.gif

I think I watched the 25 TV episodes at the same time I was reading through the manga. Then the specials and "Again" after that.

Really all 3 parts of anime are worthwhile watching. The original 25 episodes are different enough from the manga to be interesting. Plus the very distinctive character voices are imprinted on your brain for when you read the manga. Who doesn't hear Mitsumi's "ara ara!" from the anime in the manga?!

As Xepheus said, the christmas special rocked. And although it's very different than the manga version of that time, both versions are the epitome of Love Hina. Spring special sucked except for the first scene. The manga version is slightly better but still far from my favorite.

Love Hina again... bleh. In the 3rd oav I like Naru's explanation for why she's being so wishy washy. Perhaps I'm clueless but when I went through this part in the manga I was confused at her actions.

But yeah, good series. If you haven't seen ANY love hina before I suggest you watch the anime first in sequence, then pickup the manga.

I didnt like love hina. I felt too sorry for the main character all the time. They made him too likable so when he got his ass kicked by the girls I felt more pitty that humor.
Patrioil
I'm usually the one who buys the manga first...
but I borrowed this anime from a guy...
and I really like it, especially the ending...
But that dream ep with Motoko was pretty f*cked up.
hm... her name WAS Aoyama Motoko... right?
It was about a little more than a year since I saw Love Hina...
IBankotsu
Love Hine rocks....i dont care what anyone says....me and my girlfriend both watch it....but naruto it the best "new" anime right now(excludinh InuYasha of course...casue thats not really new )

For what it's worth, if you liked LH, then you might enjoy Azumanga Daioh. Similar vein and nothing fancy art wise, but the characters were great and a lot of it was outright hilarious, especially little Osaka's thought processes. Love that girl... (love them all, actually...) biggrin.gif
Vision
I liked Azumanga Daioh way better than Love Hina. Azumanga Daioh was just plain funny as hell.

Check this out. They're reading the cover of the book 'How to get your own Harem in five easy steps. I laughed my ass of.

I only have the manga and it's the best!
Lost4Eva
yeah! Azumanga was WAY better, but I think LH is okay, the manga is ten times better than the anime though... Keitaru and Naru actually gets married in it ^^

Thanks for the spoiler Captain Renob.

But yeah, if you liked Love Hina, you will also like Azumanga Daioh. I recommend it highly.

Hm... I saw Love Hina about 2 years ago,
I think it was okay. But I wanna read the manga.
The anime ending of LH was just so... bleh. ^^

I read Azumanga Daiou last year
(anyone know if it's still running....?).
I love 4 panel comics! They're hillarious.
I like Azumanga Daiou more than LH.
Mainly because of Sakaki-san,
though I liked Aoyama Motoko in LH.
Enil_El&Lova1
Id have to say that love hina is probably one of my favorite animes
For some odd reason though, i like to watch more of girls anime more than boys anime. biggrin.gif

Oooh... I am so the opposite of that.
I love shounen, and I hate shoujo.
The only shoujo I approve is FY and Full Moon.
They have good stories (especially FY ^^).

I like ass kicking manga/anime like Bleach.
I'm so glad Bleach is becoming an anime. tongue.gif
w00t w00t w00t w00t w00t w00t w00t w00t!

Love Hina was good... but absolutely not my fav.
I'm just getting tired of that harem consept...
Ugly guy - cute girlS - sexual situations - blah.
Ppl who say Ranma½ was a harem manga/anime,
they're totally wrong. It was a different situation.
Ranma is allready engaged with the pretty ladies.
Bificommander
Well, for some reason I do appear to like Shoujo better. Frankly I didn't even know Ayashi no Ceres was Shoujo, but I liked it a lot anyway. Good story, though the romance was a bit too much. Same for Fushigi Yuugi (same artist), though the romance is even 'worse' there. However, I wouldn't call Love Hina a girls manga. The combination 'nerdy guy + tons of pretty girls, who first hate him, but in the end like him' pretty much shouts "Target audience, male, 14-25 years". If it was meant for girls, there would be much more, and much better looking guys. An anime full of girls who wear as little as possible (in the manga, they don't even bother with those towels) at every remotely chance isn't shojo. Fruits basket IS shojo! (kinda cute, but bring a toothbrush. It's so sweet, the enamel falls of your teeth like Inu Yasha at an sit-command from Kagome. Yes, I know I used this annology before, but I like it)
Oh, and patroil, about Harems, see the comic I posted above if you haven't already. You're gonna love it.
Patrioil
Shoujo I like:

Fushigi Yuugi
Fruits Basket
Full Moon wo Sagashite
Revolutionary Girl Utena
Good Morning Call

and tomorrow I'm buying,
Ayashi no ceres vol. 1! laugh.gif

Shounen I like:

Bleach
Trigun
Ranma½
Hikaru no Go
Inuyasha
Meitantei Conan
Zombie Powder
Rurouni Kenshin

I rather read shounen than shoujo,
even though I'm a widdle girl ^_~
I gotta get some ass kicking now and then

I probably forgot some fav. shounen,
but it can't be helped. I love so much
But Bleach and Ranma½ rocks

Edited:
OMGods, I forgot about Kenshin! huh.gif
But I added it now ^^

Link to The Bleach Manga ^^

Now I don't know if I'm weird or just Craazzyy huh.gif . But I like Motoko  How come you ask? Well it might be the oversized pocket knife and the fact that I'm a Kendoka irl.

Oh yeah and the reaction she has when she has a cold.

In later volumes of the manga, Mokoto gets HOT and gives Naru a run for her money... I dunno, but I started to think that Kietaro should end up with Mokoto instead... she's way cooler.

haven't watched the anime really. I like the manga, and I saw some of love hina again (yawn) and one of the specials (double yawn) - to me these seemed like watered-down, unfunny versions of the manga...
Moonbeamdanser
I actually watched Love Hina because it was in a case of VCD's I'd borrowed from my friend...VCD's of all the Inuyasha ep's up till then, so I suppose it was the official "Moonie gets Addicted" time. LOL I had actually run out of IY....and was desperate for more anime...(before I discovered bittorrent..)

I actually found myself liking it. Although (yeah, can't remember all the names, its been like forever) the little native-y girl and the stupid turtle irritated me. And eventually the repetitive "hey lets just hit Keitaro around like a freaking tennis ball no matter what is really going on" stuff wore thin with me too. Yet, there was something endearing about it, especially the Christmas episode. And I have been hard put to find another series where I just curled my toes in anticipation for two characters to just GO AHEAD AND FREAKING KISS DAMMIT (much like inuyasha and kagome...) blink.gif
tuling
I read the manga first, when I came to the anime, I found the story was simplified and changed a lot, which made me a little disappointed. However, this anime is like a experimenting stage for some camera techniques and montages, plenty of imaginery things make this anime a weird but wonderful one. Its songs and background musics are also of this kind. But if you want to grab the main story and see a really typicall Narusekawa, mange will be better. She is even more violent in the anime.

What I don't like in the anime is that too much episodes are focused on some not quite relavent stories, though funny enough, the main thread was somehow diluted.

Since the mange has 14 volumes, making a 25-episode anime is not easy.

I agree...after 5 episodes, I got sick of this series...because at least 10% of every episode is keitaro getting knocked around by girls...It was funny at first then I was like...they're hitting him AGAIN!!?? most of the time he didnt even deserve it...especially what that kendo girl did to him.(I didnt bother to remember her name cuz she was a total bitch)

YEAAAAAHHH biggrin.gif ass kicking is fun to watch..hehe
ecchi-kun
you'll probably like ai yori aoshi since its pretty much like love hina only difference is that the two main characters are actually together but they hide it from everyone else like love hina but its not revealed... yet? may be ai yori aoshi enishi will conclude the series, hopefully with a nice ending.
JoOjOoBeAnS
wow this is a old topic who is the bastard who made this topic, anyways Ai yori aoshi is not really good
